picnic attire in the mid-60's
I came across these photos of my mother from the mid 1960's and they look like something out of a Kate Spade photoshoot. As I look closely at the details, I am in awe of way they are dressed and the carefulness in each of the settings. And it makes me nostalgic for a period of fashion I never knew. How many of us have posed on the sofa with a friend and her baby -- does it look like this? (sigh)

Amy, I LOVED being with your mom! She was always fun and so loving and caring (still is). It's such a shame we don't have golden moments like this anymore isn't it?

Stunning! And no, we never have on our heels do we?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, Cuz. It is a sadly lost age. I come across pictures like this of Grandma and Grandpa now and again. Man, oh man, they sure knew how to capture a moment.
ReplyDeleteIn those days we dressed up to fly on an airplane--very sweet thoughts from all of you.It was fun to be a girlie girl...Ellen
ReplyDeleteWow . . . great photos and thanks for sharing! Hmmmn . . . a very different Ellen than the one that used to climb trees when we were a bit younger.

Great post Amy! The style back then was so inspiring/intimidating. I wonder what they would have thought of the style (or lack of) today if they could have seen into the future. It makes me want to change out of my yoga pants more often :)
